My Hanoian Life on a Map
Posted by Brent under Vietnam
I love maps. This probably stems from an insuppressible need to place things in their proper context.
For those who appreciate context, I have provided a satellite map of Hanoi, highlighting a few places relevant to my daily life. Click the placemarks to see what they represent. The long blue line is the route of my daily commute to and from work.
I must say, Google makes turning over your every personal detail so seductively simple that it’s hard to resist. By now they know more about me than I do.

Fascinating! I think you have inherited your need to see things in context from your mother.

Wow, that is a long commute…I’m curious, how long does it take you?

If I tear temerariously through the treacherous traffic, it takes me just over half an hour.
If I take the time to travel more attentively, the trip takes around forty-five minutes.
One morning, through puddles that submerged my feet at the bottom of every pedal rotation, it took over an hour.

I like your job with these blue balloons pointing out places Brent. How can you do that?
Nice blog. :-)
